Residential Care Home Course

This is a tried and tested course that has been developed to suit the needs of a modern care home environment. Designed to give staff the confidence to deal with an emergency situation should it arise.

On completion of the course staff will understand:

• The common causes of fire
• The principles of proactive fire
• Safety management
• The effects of fire and smoke
• The development, spread and suppression of fire
• The actions to take in the event of a fire/hearing an alarm
• Horizontal evacuation procedures relevant to your care home

The course will also ensure:

• Staff awareness of their responsibilities to themselves and others
• Basic knowledge on the different types and uses of extinguishers

Location details:

These courses can be held at any of our fire service premises across the county, but are usually held on your premises - subject to appropriate conditions such as a safe area outside and/or a room inside for the lecture.
