First Aid at Work [Full Course]

The full Health & Safety at Work First Aid course can be covered in 4 days either consecutive or 1 day a week for 4 weeks.  All persons passing the course will receive a First Aid at Work Certificate valid for 3 years.  At the end of the course candidates will be competent in the following:

  • Resuscitation
  • Shock
  • Bleeding
  • Unconsciousness
  • First Aid Boxes
  • Transporting Casualties
  • Bones, Muscles & Joints
  • Minor Injuries
  • Burns & Scalds
  • Eye Injuries
  • Poisons
  • Record Keeping
  • Hygiene
  • Communication in an Emergency and Major Injuries

Introduction

Health and Safety Regulations require that in order to provide first aid to their employees who are injured or become ill whilst at work, employers must have suitably qualified people, equipment and facilities in place

This course is for delegates who are the designated first aider within their working environment and who would carry out all responsibilities assigned to this role.  The duration of the current full first aid at work course is for 24 contact hours and can be delivered over a minimum of four days and maximum of 13 weeks.  This qualification is valid for three years.

Aims

This will prepare delegates to give immediate assistance and treatment to some injured or suddenly taken ill before the arrival of the ambulance, doctor or other professional qualified person.

  • Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation

Eligibility

There no specific pre-requisites however delegates will have been given responsibility for first aid at work must obtain this qualification.  The course is open for anyone and designed to meet individual needs and the needs of the organisation
